Increasingly, I find myself utterly frustrated and tired of dealing with people. Though not all people, just the idiots and the crazy people of the world. As someone who sadly has had to work in jobs that deal with the general public, I am now working on saving enough money so that I will not have to work with the general public anymore when I get ready to retire. In the meantime that still leaves me to work at a job with co-workers, but I'm hoping that eventually I will have the option of working from home.
Anyways, the ultimate plan is to:
Try to find a job that deals with as little interaction with the general public.
Try to grow your own food.
Don't accept invitations to hang out or participate in social activities.
If you don't want to have friends, just slowly distance yourself from them until they fade away.
Disconnect from social media.
Try to learn to do as much as your can for yourself so you do not have to rely on someone else.
Save as much money as you can / contribute to your retirement accounts so that you can stop working as early as possible.
Those are just some of the ideas I have. I am sure a true hermit will have more/better ideas than me. There is a hermit, or monk inside all of us. Giving our selves silence and time to discover the cave of our heart is a great gift. In the simple cave we find in the heart inside our heart is peace, quiet, simple joy....this can begin to change many parts of life in general. The secret to discovering this inner monastic self is to take time for retreat, silence, and receive the gentleness within. We discover this vastness in meditation that shows us that who we are is really without self, identity, and just being, endless being. The being-ness is very healing and touches the part of us that just wants to leave the world and be a hermit. May you enjoy the hermit inside you.
Good luck!
